Our courses take place on the lovely Campus of the University of Kingston.  It’s attractive buildings are a blend of old and new and are located on a series of tree-lined terraces that descend Kingston Hill.  Compact and easy to find, all facilities are of the highest quality.  The modern teaching block has classrooms equipped with the latest teaching facilities and audio visual aids.

The restaurant, right in the centre, is bright and colourful and opens out on a broad patio where students can eat in the fine summer weather; the university is renowned for its excellent food.

The student union building has an atmospheric bar and disco.  There are tennis courts on site and the adjacent Richmond Park has extensive playing fields where all kinds of sports can be followed.  Swimming takes place in the local swimming pool complex.

At times it is difficult to remember that the campus is only 30 minutes from the centre of London as it is peaceful, green and beautifully secure.

Accommodation at Kingston

Residential Accommodation is in the new accommodation blocks.  There are 4 blocks, and each one is similar: they have two flats on each floor, with each flat comprising 6 bedrooms.  All rooms are single and with an en-suite bathroom, plus excellent study facilities. There are communal kitchens and common rooms with television and games throughout.  Elac staff are always on duty to ensure thorough supervision and the front door is operated with a personal swipe card so security is high at all times.

We also work closely with an extremely experienced host family organiser to provide carefully selected accommodation locally.  They offer a warm welcome and secure environment in which to live and practise English. Lunches will be taken in the university restaurant Monday to Friday. All other meals will be with the family.

Excursions from Kingston

The focus of excursions for our Kingston Centre is clearly London: during your stay in Kingston you will have at least four opportunities to visit the sights and attraction of central London, in addition to a full-day visit to Cambridge.

Excursion 1 – Walking tour of central sights

You will enjoy a walking tour of the city – the best way to see all the world-famous landmarks. Whether this is your first visit or not, we’re sure that you will want to have a chance to see Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square and much more.  At the end of the sightseeing tour, you will have some free time in Oxford Street (or another location your group has chosen) to visit some shops and buy souvenirs.

Excursion 2 – Museum / Gallery visit

You will have the chance to visit one of London’s many fantastic museums or galleries, including The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, The British Museum, The Tate Modern, or the National Portrait Gallery. After the visit, you will again have an opportunity to fit in some shopping, or else soak up the atmosphere of the capital.

Excursions 3 & 4 – Tailor-made trips

The other visits we will organise together with you , so that we can be sure you get the most out of your London stay.  There are a whole range of attractions to choose from such as the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre or the London Eye (entrances not included).  Or you may prefer to go to a West End show?   If you’re keen to explore London, then we can include areas such as Camden Market or Covent Garden.  Whatever you choose, we’ll organise it for you.
