New Elac Centres |
|
|
We are delighted to announce that Elac will be running courses in two new centres from 2011: The University of Wales in Cardiff Cardiff is the capital city of Wales and has a rich cultural and historical heritage as well as fast becoming one of Britain's most exciting and vibrant cities. It is within easy reach of some of Britain's most impressive countryside and historical sites. The University campus where Elac will run its courses lies to the north of the city but still only a short trip from the centre. The campus is the university's specialised sports college whose aim is to develop the sporting stars of the future. Courses will be residential only. St Andrew's School, Eastbourne St Andrew's is a long-established school in Eastbourne which is now part of the same organisation as Eastbourne College (Elac's other Eastbourne centre). The school is the Meads district of Eastbourne, a prosperous and attractive residential area. The school buildings are set in their own grounds with extensive playing fields. The facilities are excellent – a gymnasium, tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, IT suite and its own dining room. The school is 3 minutes' walk from the sea front, 5 minutes from the foot of Beachy Head and the South Downs National Park but it's only 15 minutes' walk from Eastbourne's town centre. Elac was founded in 1991 (the year Boris Yeltsin was elected President of Russia, the KGB was abolished, Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest, Charles and Diana separated, Dances with Wolves won the Oscar for Best Film, South Africa scrapped apartheid and Bill Clinton joined the race for the White House) so we are celebrating 20 years of providing high standards of care and education to thousands of students from many different countries. Elac has grown from small beginnings but we have never lost sight of the central need to remain caring and responsive to our students and staff. In this time we have earned a reputation for quality, but even more importantly, for the individual care and personal service that we offer everyone following our courses. Since 2000, we have gradually built an impressive portfolio of centres, and a satisfied group of partners overseas. From one non-residential centre in 1991 Elac has grown to 8 centres around the country, each with its own strengths and each with its own character and atmosphere. To celebrate, Elac hosted friends, business partners and staff (much the same thing) to a banquet at Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex. Click here to read all about it! |
